How to care for your cake

Baked with the Finest Ingredients

Our coffee cakes are baked with the finest ingredients daily. They are frozen immediately to preserve both flavor and freshness, and will arrive ready-to-serve for your enjoyment.  We don't use presevatives so we highly recommend that you eat your coffee cake within 3 to 5 days following delivery.  Our cakes can also be frozen for up to 6 months without losing it's fresh flavor.  See freezing instructions below.

Best Served Warm

We always recommend warming our coffee cake. Each cake is baked with real butter (no corn or vegetable oils).  When you warm our cake, it opens up the butter flavor and gives our cakes a “fresh from the oven” experience. 

Oven Heating

Remove from plastic wrap.  You don't need to remove the paper, but we recommend that you place on a cookie sheet or aluminum foil when you place it in the oven.  You can heat your oven between 170˚ to 285˚ degrees for 15 to 20 minutes (*NOTE: If you are taking from freezer to oven, you will need to double time 30-40 minutes or until warm).  

Microwave Heating

Individual cake slices can be microwaved for 10 to 12 seconds.  We recommend full size cake-a-lettes to be microwaved for 20-35 seconds. We do not recommend heating Large or Medium sized coffee cakes in the microwave.

Remove Decorative Paper Mold

Our cakes are actually baked in the decorative paper.  To remove from large or medium sized cakes:  There is an overlapping tab on the side of the cake.  Pull down and the wrapping.  The base of the paper wrap is perforated so it should pull away leaving the center cone and base of the paper still on the cake.  We recommend removing the paper before cutting.

Freezing and Storage

Our cakes may be frozen up to 6 months without losing the fresh flavor. Wrap the coffee cake in plastic or in an airtight container before placing in the freezer.

If the original packaging hasn't been opened, you can keep in the refrigerator, however, once the original wrapping has been opened, we do not recommend refrigeration as it will remove the moisture from the cake.  It is best to keep at room temperature or cut into smaller slices and freeze for an anytime treat!
